Our mission is to end hunger in our community by achieving food security, preventing food waste and improving nutrition for those in need. Every day, The Moose Jaw & District Food Bank and its partners work to bring our community closer to our mission to "End Hunger".
As a local non-profit organization, we are dedicated to providing a food redistribution service to those facing food insecurity. We help reduce "Food Waste", by collecting, sorting and distributing a surplus of donated and recovered food within the community to those most in need.
The giving of time, money, and effort by compassionate and conscientious individuals and businesses in our community are the driving forces behind our mission. It is only because of our dedicated staff, and volunteers along with our community partners and donors that make our mission to "End Hunger" a possibility.
Your donation will help us to continue our mission of supporting our community. Every dollar counts and will make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
Join our team of volunteers and make a difference in your community. Whether you can give a few hours a week or a few hours a month, your time and skills are appreciated.
We host a variety of events throughout the year, including fundraisers, community outreach events, and educational seminars. Check out our calendar to see what's coming up.

The Mighty Munchkins program was inspired by a teacher from a local community school who watched his students struggle to learn on an empty stomach. While many schools offer lunch programs, teachers are seeing families struggle to provide nutritious food for their children outside of school hours. Through this teacher, and many others, we have learned that children who are eating nutritious foods during the day and at home are achieving higher grades, are happier, and participate in classroom activities with energy and excitement.
From these conversations, the Mighty Munchkins program evolved. Today, we provide fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, protein, and school-safe snacks to families accessing our food bank. Annually, we allocate over $100,000 to purchase these essentials, supporting approximately 730 children and their families each month.
