5 Ways To Support Us

The Moose Jaw & District Food Bank is a non-profit organization which collects, sorts and distributes donated and recovered food and grocery items for anyone in need. We currently help over 1800 individuals and hand out more than 700 food hampers each month. Nearly half the people we provide food for are children. As part of a national food bank network, we seek to alleviate food insecurity for all those in need.

We are not government subsidized and rely solely on donations from our community partners and individuals like you who want to make a difference.

You can support us in 5 ways: Monetary Donations, Donate Your Harvest, Leave a Legacy, Join Us as a Volunteer, Create Your Own Fundraiser. Click here to read more..

Other Ways to Support Us

Harvest

Plant an extra row in your garden and donate the surplus to help us provide fresh produce in our hampers. Our desire is to see fresh nutritious food in all of our hampers. Farmers, hunters, fishermen, and avid gardeners can all help improve local food security in the community by donating some of their harvest.

Leave a Legacy

Legacy giving in memory of a loved one, or as a part of your own estate planning, can be a mutually beneficial gift that furthers a cause you believe in.

Speak to your financial planner to learn more about creating a legacy of support for the work of the Moose Jaw & District Food Bank.

Join Us

The annual “Better Together Food Drive” is our largest food drive of the year, collecting over 50,000 pounds of food donations in just one night! It happens every Halloween and we can never have too many volunteers to help coordinate, drive, collect, pack, and of course sort through the famous ‘food mountain’!

Create Your Own Fundraiser

Rally your networks to support your local food bank by hosting a fundraiser! Through Canada Helps you can create your own free fundraiser and have the donations sent directly to The Moose Jaw & District Food Bank. Plus, we automatically email a tax receipt for your supporters! Your fundraiser can also get creative by hosting a used book or bake sale, organize a ‘causal dress day’ at work and ask for a donation for the privilege of wearing your favourite jeans.
