We keep hearing people use the term "the new normal" Yes it is new, but it is not normal. Over the next few months Covid could devastate approximately 3,700 people in Moose Jaw, 1,250 of them will be children. Normally at this time of the year our Food bank is gearing up for some of our bigger Food Drives, but... CO-VID hit and the major Food Drives aren't happening. Without these drives we are going to be short about 80,000 lbs of food. That is approximately 1/3 of the food we distribute in our hampers each year. This means almost 3,700 people could go hungry, 1,250 of those are children. Now more than ever, we need Your help. There are four ways you can put a stop to these side effects
Our mission is to end hunger in our community by achieving food security, preventing food waste and improving nutrition for those in need. Every day, The Moose Jaw & District Food Bank and its partners work to bring our community closer to a "Zero Hunger".
As a local non-profit organization, we are dedicated to providing a food redistribution service to those facing food insecurity. We help reduce "Food Waste", by collecting, sorting and distributing a surplus of donated and recovered food within the community to those most in need.
The giving of time, money, and effort by compassionate and conscientious individuals and businesses in our community are the driving forces behind our mission. It is only because of our dedicated staff, and volunteers along with our community partners and donors that make our mission of "Zero Hunger" a possibility.
