The Moose Jaw & District Food Bank requires an appointment for all shopping visits from registered clients. If you’re a new client, please email harvestpantry@mjfoodbank.org to receive your first appointment.

There are four ways to book an appointment:

Once installed, you can book, view, and manage your appointments just like on the website.

How to Register with the Food Bank?

If this is your first visit, you can request a registration appointment by visiting our sign up page

On your first visit,  you will be required to provide:

  • One piece of valid government-issued photo ID for each adult in the household. We no longer accept Health Cards as ID.
  • Proof of chidlren under 18:
    • Canada Child Benefit document
    • Bank statement showing Canada Child Benefit
    • School letter
    • Social worker letter
    • Band or reserve confirmation
  • A recent utility bill (paper or digital) that has the date, name, and address of one adult living in the house.

  • Once you are registered, you can book a shopping time at The Harvest Pantry. We have a selection of perishable and non-perishable food items. Product may very from day to day.
  • Please remember that our service is an Emergency Service  – Take only what you need. 
  • Our shopping hours are by appointment only. 
  • We are open Monday to Friday from 9:30 to 2:30 PM. We are closed 12PM to 1PM for restocking.

Using the phone or text system, you can also check your upcoming appointments or cancel if needed.

Guests are welcome to access the Surplus Program once per day and help themselves to a set number items from the Surplus Section of the shopping center. Surplus Items include, excess bread, food that has reached it best before date but is still edible, dented cans, etc.

 A “Client Choice Shopping Center” is a model of emergency food distribution that enables clients to select their own food, much like a grocery store, rather than a pre-made hamper that may not meet their unique dietary needs. At our Client Choice Shopping Center ( The Harvest Pantry) we also aim to provide clients with culturally and ethnically appropriate choices. 

 Anyone facing Food Insecurity, those who  lack regular access to enough safe and nutritious food for normal growth and development and an active and healthy life, are able to access The Harvest Pantry as an emergency support.

Your spouse or common law partner and all dependents legally in your care make up your household. Adult children residing at home or roommates will be required to book their own appointment. Some exceptions apply, please ask the caseworker at the time of your booking.

Any household on SAID or SIS can visit The Harvest Pantry twice per calendar month. All other households will have to complete and eligibility review to continue to access the food bank. Please read more here: https://mjfoodbank.org/eligibility-reviews/

Yes! They will need to provide an ID for everyone in your file and proof of address to shop on your behalf.

Individuals with severe mobility issues that have no mode of transportation or a support network to help them can apply for our delivery service.  Please find more details here:

Please bring your own reusable bags or boxes to pack your  groceries. We cannot guarantee that we will have bags or boxes available on-site.
