Eligibility Reviews

Eligibility reviews are required for all clients to continue accessing the food bank.

We are not denying that people are in need. However, as need continues to rise beyond our ability to support everyone, we must take difficult steps to ensure help reaches those with the greatest need.

New clients must bring photo ID for every adult, proof of children in the household (child benefits receipt/document), and a recent utility bill for proof of address.

Existing clients must schedule their review starting April 1, 2026. Clients may access the food bank once in April and once in May without a review. Starting in June, services will only be available to clients who have completed their review.

Reviews are required every 3 months and must be completed on time to maintain access.

How to schedule a review

If you are due for a review, you can email clear, scanned copies of your documents to mujidat.ogunshola@mjfoodbank.org (Client Resource Coordinator).

If you are not comfortable emailing your documents, you may schedule a review in your online account or contact the harvest pantry to schedule an in-person review.

Please ensure all documents are clear, complete, and valid. Missing or unclear documents may result in delays or an inaccurate assessment.

Refer to the documents section of this page for a list of required documents.

All information collected will be kept confidential

  • Utility costs
  • Transportation costs
  • Childcare costs

What happens after a review

Based on your review, your eligibility to access the food bank will be determined. Your monthly visit limit may be adjusted depending on your household’s need.

This process helps ensure that clients with the greatest need receive the most support. If you are experiencing higher need, this review allows us to better support you.

Your eligibility will remain in place for 3 months, after which a new review will be required.

Please reach out to mujidat.ogunshola@mjfoodbank.org for any questions.
