Frequently asked questions

How to get food, what to bring, and how to give or volunteer. If your question is not here, just ask.

Getting food

How do I get food?

Book a visit to the Harvest Pantry in the booking app, then come in at your time to pick up your food. You can book on a computer, or on your phone with the Moose Jaw Food Bank app.

Book a visit

This is my first time. What do I do?

Call us at 306-692-2911 or come to 270 Fairford St W during Harvest Pantry hours, and we will help you register. Bring the documents listed under What to bring. Once you are registered, you can book your visits in the app.

Who can get food?

The food bank is for people who live in Moose Jaw and District and need help with food. When you register, we ask about your household and income so we can confirm you are eligible. Everything you share stays private. Live somewhere else? Find your closest food bank.

How often can I visit?

Each household can visit twice a month. The booking app only offers times you can still book.

What if I cannot make my booked time?

Cancel or change it in the booking app as soon as you know, so someone else can use the time. If you cannot get into the app, call us at 306-692-2911.

Can I get food delivered?

Yes, if you live in Moose Jaw and the surrounding area, cannot get to the pantry because of a severe mobility issue, and have no one who can help. A health professional confirms this on your application. See Home delivery for how to apply.

When are you open, and are you open on holidays?

The Harvest Pantry is open Monday to Friday, 9:30 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Closed daily from 12:00 to 1:00 pm for staff break and restocking.

We are closed on all statutory holidays.

We are at 270 Fairford St W, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1V6.

Where else can I find help?

Our Community resources page lists meals, housing, health and other services in Moose Jaw. You can also call 211 Saskatchewan at 211, any time.

What to bring

Having these ready makes your visit quick and easy.

Every visit

  • Your client card
  • Photo IDs for every member of your family
  • One recent piece of mail as proof of address, such as a utility bill, flyer or Amazon box. It must show a family member's name, your address and a date. Digital bills are accepted.
  • If you have just moved, a rental agreement is accepted temporarily. Bring a utility bill on your next visit.
  • Bags or boxes to carry your food home

When you register

  • Photo ID: For each adult in your household.
  • Proof of children: For each child, such as a Canada Child Benefit statement, a bank statement showing the benefit, a school or social worker letter, or band or reserve confirmation.
  • Proof of address: A recent utility bill. After a move, a rental agreement is accepted.
  • Bank statements: Three months of complete statements for each adult. Screenshots are not accepted.

We ask for these again when your eligibility is reviewed. Missing something? Come anyway, or call 306-692-2911, and we will work it out together.
